The annual CCSALA Scouter recognition dinner was held at St. Maximillian Kolby parish in Thousand Oaks on March 8, 2008. Fr. Jim Maher and Dennis Swink presented 7 Bronze Pelican Emblems, 13 St. George Emblems, 2 Msgr. James E. Dolan Awards, and a number of special service citations by the Chairman of the CCSALA committee. John Lorentz, who could not attend the dinner this year, received his Msgr. James E. Dolan Award from Jim Shivers and Dennis Swink at his home, shortly before the dinner began.

The Catholic Committee on Scouting Archdiocese of Los Angeles (CCSALA) sponsored their 16th Annual Scout Retreat on September 29, 30 and 31, 2007 at Veterans Park in Sylmar, CA.
Each of the 400 Boy Scouts, Cub Scouts, Girl Scouts, Venture Crew Members, parents and adult leaders received a special Retreat XVI patch featuring the theme Perseverance and the Patron Saint Monica.

The scout religious award presentation mass at the Los Angeles Cathedral was held on May 20, 2007.
A total of 80 Scouts received the Ad Altare Dei emblem and 34 youth from Scout Troops and Venture Crews around the Archdiocese were awarded the Pope Pius XII emblem.
