The scout religious award presentation mass at the Los Angeles Cathedral was held on May 16, 2010. Monsignor Kevin Kostelnik presided.  A total of 116 boys received the Ad Altare Dei emblem and 39 young men and women from Scout Troops and Venture Crews were awarded the prestigious Pope Pius XII emblem.

The Catholic Committee on Scouting Archdiocese of Los Angeles (CCSALA) sponsored the 18th Annual Scout Retreat on October 2-4, 2009, at Veterans Park in Sylmar, CA.

Each of the 425 Boy Scouts, Cub Scouts, Girl Scouts, Venture Crew Members, parents and adult leaders received a special Retreat XVIII patch featuring the theme "Truth" and the Patron Saint Dominic.

The annual CCSALA Scouter recognition dinner was held at St. Maximillian Kolby parish in Thousand Oaks on March 8, 2008. Fr. Jim Maher and Dennis Swink presented 7 Bronze Pelican Emblems, 13 St. George Emblems, 2 Msgr. James E. Dolan Awards, and a number of special service citations by the Chairman of the CCSALA committee. John Lorentz, who could not attend the dinner this year, received his Msgr. James E. Dolan Award from Jim Shivers and Dennis Swink at his home, shortly before the dinner began.

Annual Adult Award Dinners are conducted for the purpose of recognizing those scouters who have contributed to the religious awards programs and have gave distinguished service to the Catholic Committee on Scouting.

Tha annual Catholic Scout Retreats, sponosored by the Catholic Committee on Scouting for the Archdiocese of Los Angeles (CCSALA) include small group discussion, arts and crafts for the yougest scouts, area-wide games, and mass in a beautiful outdoor setting.
