Pope Pius XII Workshop - 2012

We invite high school age Scouts and Venturers to join us for three intense weekends of learning and fun as they earn the Pope Pius Religious Emblem. This is our 7th year of offering this program over a three weekend format which better meets the needs of today’s high school age youth.

The Verdugo Hills council within the CCSALA will be hosting PPXII Class over the course of several months. Please note the dates and call the counselors involved for more information:

Please note: 100% class attendance is required to complete this program. There will be 1 pre class meeting scheduled with date to be announced.

To be eligible for this program, you must be a registered member of a Boy Scout Troop or Team or a Venturing Crew who is in at least the ninth grade and who has not achieved your 21st birthday. Eligibility is also extended to adult leaders under the age of 21 serving as an Assistant Cubmaster or Asstistant Scoutmaster.

The cost of the program is $75.00 which covers a weekend session at Camp Verdugo Oaks and two one day sessions (in Eagle Rock). The sessions are approximately one month apart. Your $75 fee covers the cost of the Religious Emblem medal, one night's lodging at Camp Verdugo Oaks, an afternoon session of rifle shooting, your food for all four days, and some handouts. If you come up Friday evening we ask an additional $10 payment to cover the cost we pay to the Verdugo Hills Council for use of the dormitory and breakfast. Otherwise we will start Saturday morning at 9:00 am sharp. We expect to leave camp at 3:30 on Sunday. We will fulfill our Sunday obligation for Mass on the weekend as part of our group. We ask that each participant purchase the Pope Pius XII Handbook from your local Scout Office so that you can review the material prior to our first gathering.
